Dentist on the Plaza Provides Quality Emergency Dental Care

As a dentist on the Plaza our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff and community. As we continue to closely monitor developments in the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking greater steps to quarantine and self-isolate during this time to try to minimize the spread of the virus. Your dental health can have a significant impact on your overall health, and vice versa, and it is critical that you take care of both. Here are some important considerations pertaining to your dental health at home and emergency dental care at the dentist on the Plaza.

Based on federal recommendations and those presented by the American Dental Association and the CDC, we have adjusted our policies to keep our patients and staff safe. Only emergency dental care is being offered at this time. A dental emergency includes a cracked or chipped tooth, a knocked-out tooth, lost filling or crown, tissue injury and a tooth abscess, or associated toothache. In an effort to minimize movement and contamination, patients arriving at a dentist on the Plaza will be taken immediately to a treatment area and will be discharged from there as well.

The elderly and people with compromised immune systems are at an increased risk of complications to novel Coronavirus. If you fall into either one of these categories and you have a dental emergency or another dental need, please call dentist on the Plaza right away and express your concerns of being exposed to COVID-19. We may be able to make a recommendation on how you can get help.

lee dentist on the plaza coronavirus covid-19 precautionsBecause novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is so new and highly contagious to those around us, the dentist on the Plaza suggests these tips for virus-prevention and at-home dental care:

  • Brush thoroughly and floss your teeth at least twice a day;
  • Wash your hands before flossing your teeth;
  • Keep your toothbrush separate from others;
  • Replace your toothbrush if you’ve been sick;
  • Don’t share your mouthwash with others;

We must all do what we can to help ensure that lingering bacteria doesn’t lead to reinfection or get passed on to other family members. Dentist on the Plaza recommends you comply with social isolation measures – stay at home whenever possible in order to limit exposure, for yourself and others. If someone in your home is sick, create a designated sick room. If you or someone in your home has been exposed to COVID-19, and happen to experience a dental emergency during this time, contact a dentist on the Plaza so we can determine how we might be able to help you given your situation.
