How Does the Dental Implant Process Work?

1. Restorative Consultation

Dr. Lee reviews your medical and dental history, examines your teeth, gums, bite, and the area where your tooth is missing. We will discuss your concerns, treatment goals, and restorative options.

2. Surgical Consultation

Dr. Lee refers you to a surgical specialist who reviews your medical and dental history, evaluates your teeth, gums, bite, jawbone, CBCT scan, and discusses with you your treatment goals and treatment options, including whether implant placement is appropriate. Together, the providers coordinate your treatment plan.

3. Implant Placement and Healing

The surgical specialist places the implant into the jawbone. Over time, the surrounding bone integrates with the implant through osseointegration.

Healing times vary depending on your individual circumstances.

4. Implant Restoration

When the implant is ready to be restored, Dr. Lee completes the restorative portion of treatment.

Depending on the treatment plan, this may involve an implant crown, implant bridge, or implant-supported prosthesis. The restoration is designed for comfortable function and a natural appearance.

5. Follow-up and hygiene appointments

Dr. Lee will follow up on your implant restorations and review with you oral hygiene instructions. Our team will keep you on track with regular dental check-up and cleaning appointments.
